Borzoi "Staff" - Past and Present
Skye -- Princess of the Universe and a Pippa daughter, Skye was the Grand Dame at Islehaven for nearly 14 years.
Apollo -- An AKC Champion like his Aunt Skye and a Pippa grandson like Trader, Apollo lives up to his name... he truly believes he IS a god, and should be treated accordingly. It IS all about him... just ask!
Breeze -- Breeze joined us in 2006, and is less seen in the bookstore as she prefers the more active outdoor life. Breezy is black with white trim and did so well going to dog shows and bringing back ribbons that she became Champion Coburn Seabreeze at Islehaven just after her 2nd birthday. In October 2009, Breeze presented us with our first "Island bred, Island born" litter, consisting of two boys - Camano and Whidbey.
Rex -- Rex came out all the way from Florida in the fall of 2007. He is a striking red color, and a real charmer. Rex thinks dog shows are parties thrown for him, so he still goes off showing now and again.
The Youngsters
Summer of '09 saw the arrival of three puppies at Islehaven... all with different stories and all born withing seven weeks of each other (one in CA, one here on Lopez, and one from OH). These young borzoi will be woven into Islehaven Borzoi's future breeding plans.
Rion - a Pippa great-grandson, Rion came up from CA. Mostly white with a red head and a couple of red spots, there is no question that he is a Pippa descendent.
Tessa - Bred and born on Lopez to Ostrov Borzoi, Tessa is a big boisterous girl who is willing to please. She is also gorgeous white with a sabled red head and spot. Tessa is a cousin to the two newest arrivals at Islehaven, as her mother is a litter sister to Camano and Whidbey's father.
Ebony - A little black and white minx, Ebony is Breeze's niece (thus a cousin as well to Camano and Whidbey) and too smart for her own good! She is also funny and sweet.
Camano and Whidbey - Born Oct. 20, 2009 these two boys will be fun to watch grow.
The dogs even have their own website: www.islehavenborzoi.com.
